Since our beginnings in 1946, Salmon has maintained a very conservative philosophy in its business operations as a streamlined, low-overhead organization specializing in transporting the mail. Salmon has always been on the cutting edge of technology in its equipment and maintenance facilities. But, the will to perform and do the job efficiently and with quality has always been what has put us a step ahead of our competitors.

Pat Salmon led and taught his sons to lead the company with an honest direct approach in every task undertaken. Save and prepare for tomorrow epitomized Mr. Pat's style and he commissioned his sons to follow in his steps. Beyond any doubt, the company bears not only the name of Pat Salmon, but also his legacy.

Salmon has, over the past 20 years since Mr. Pat's death, expanded through timely and well-positioned acquisitions toward an extensive network of maintenance and dispatch facilities throughout the southeast, Midwest, southwest, and western regions of the United States. These acquisitions were unique and complex.

Through our expansion, Salmon has staffed and operated an extensive network of 10 maintenance facilities across the country. Our professional maintenance technicians are involved in an on going education program, thus enabling Salmon employees to stay current on all industry wide technical changes. In addition, all personnel are trained, and kept up to date on all Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency regulations to ensure all equipment and facilities are in compliance. These programs include, manufacturers technical training classes, as well as our own series of training seminars. We are very proud that our maintenance facilities rank among the highest in the industry in safety, productivity and regulatory compliance. Through our experience, we have learned that properly maintained equipment is the key in being able to adhere to the strictest of schedules.
